VoIP Verification Settings – Functions and Configuration Guide
The VoIP Verification Settings section allows the POS system to connect with a VoIP (Voice over IP) provider. When configured correctly, this integration enables the system to automatically recognize incoming phone numbers, streamlining phone-based order handling and reducing manual input.
This feature is especially useful for restaurants that receive a high volume of phone orders.
Purpose of VoIP Verification
When VoIP verification is enabled:
-
Incoming phone numbers are automatically detected
-
The system can identify returning customers
-
Staff no longer need to manually enter phone numbers
-
Phone orders can be created faster and with fewer errors
The POS uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to communicate with the VoIP provider. Your VoIP provider must support SIP for this integration to work correctly.
Configuration Fields
1. Server URI
This field defines the VoIP server address provided by your VoIP supplier.
-
It specifies where the POS should connect
-
Typically provided as a SIP server URL

Must be entered exactly as supplied by the VoIP provider
Incorrect configuration will prevent phone number recognition.
2. Username
This is the VoIP account username.
-
Used to identify the account on the VoIP server
-
Provided by your VoIP provider
-
Often linked to a specific phone line or extension
3. Authentication Username
The authentication username is used specifically for SIP authentication.
-
In some setups, this is the same as the regular username
-
In other cases, it may differ
-
Always follow the VoIP provider’s instructions
This field ensures secure communication with the VoIP server.
4. Password
This is the password associated with the VoIP account.
-
Required for authentication
-
Case-sensitive

For security reasons, ensure this password is only shared with authorized technical staff.
Important Notes and Requirements
-
Your VoIP provider must support SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
-
Not all VoIP services expose SIP credentials by default
-
You may need to explicitly request SIP details from your provider
-
CashDesk relies on SIP to initiate sessions and retrieve caller information
If SIP is not supported or credentials are incorrect, incoming calls will still work, but caller identification inside the POS will not function.
