How to Close Your POS System and Financial Data
Closing your POS system can refer to different actions depending on what you want to achieve. Below is a clear explanation of the available options and when to use them.
1. Closing Financial Data (Day Closing)
If your goal is to finalize your financial data for the day, you should perform a day closing within the POS environment.
This process ensures that:
- All transactions are properly recorded
- Daily totals are calculated
- Reports are finalized for accounting purposes
You can access this option directly within your POS system under the day closing or financial section.
2. Closing the POS System
If you simply want to stop using the POS system (for example, at the end of your shift), you do not need to perform a full shutdown.
Instead:
- Just close the browser running the POS system
This will safely exit the system without affecting stored data.
3. Closing the Website Automatically
If your POS is connected to an online ordering website, there is no need to manually close it in most cases.
The website will:
- Automatically open and close
- Follow the configured opening hours
This ensures customers can only place orders during your business hours.
4. Manually Closing the POS or Website
If you need to manually close your POS or website outside of the scheduled hours, you can do so :
- Click the computer icon in the top-right corner of the screen
- Select the option to close or deactivate the system
This gives you full control when needed, for example during unexpected situations or temporary closures.
